Hi Obinna -- I fear you'll find many mirrored similarites of this in any closed off patriarchal societies, including in Africa. The cages that men build to keep women and children in line are pervasive to all and is not limited by color lines or economic lines. I write about Hmong women because that's my lane, those are my girls, but the truth is that we find it all over the world, in places where men need to maintain control over women.
